A Workshop for New and Aspiring Chicken Keepers
Feathered Fundamentals is a beginner-friendly, in-person workshop designed to help new and aspiring chicken keepers start strong and avoid some of the most common early mistakes. In it, we’ll walk through the basics of chicken keeping in a way that’s practical, approachable, and grounded in real-life experience. From bringing home your first chicks to collecting your first egg, this workshop focuses on setting up healthy habits, confident care routines, and a flock that can truly thrive.
No judgment, no gatekeeping, and no pretending everything always goes perfectly. Just real talk, and real learning.
I’m looking at April 2026 for the first workshop date and classes will be capped at 12 people to make sure everyone gets a chance to ask questions and get one-on-one attention. The workshop location is still to be determined but I’m looking at somewhere close to Kentville, Nova Scotia. More details about the workshop will be added to this page as time goes on so check back again soon!
